New T-shirt Design Uses Fabric That Reduces Body Heat

Here's today's feel-good story:

It is easy to make clothes that keep you warm, but much harder to make clothes that keep you cool.

A pair of Chinese scientists have designed a shirt that will keep your skin temperature 5°C cooler.

Human skin emits a form of electromagnetic radiation called mid-infrared and the scientists, along with Tao Guangming of Huazhong University of Science and Technology created a synthetic fiber blend that reflects the mid-infrared and also contains an acid that absorbs body heat and ejects it through the shirt to cool the person wearing it.
