Chinese Monk Rescues 8,000 Dogs And Finds New Homes For Them

Here's today's feel-good story:

Since 1994, Zhi Xiang has rescued over 8,000 dogs that are homeless in Shanghai and cared for all of them.

With help from volunteers and his own employees, Xiang currently takes care of hundreds of cats and dogs costing $2.5 million each year in supplies and labor.

So far, he has been able, with the help of social media, to find homes for 300 dogs in Canada, the US, and Germany.

“I think they’re very happy so I feel it’s worthwhile,” he said. “But of course I miss them.”
