Here's today's feel-good story:
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is known for being a personality with his bleached hair, love of barbecue, and being charitable. He began raising money to feed firefighters that were battling the wildfires in California and now has raised almost $25 million for restaurants that are facing financial struggles due to the pandemic.
Fieri helped launch the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund last spring while partnering with the National Restaurant Association.
“You know, so many people work in the restaurant industry in multiple jobs, second jobs, single moms, single parents, students, retirees. And the restaurant industry is massively important to our communities,” Fieri said. “And so, when I saw this coming, I said, ‘We got to do something to get some money to these folks.”
