Access to higher education can be an integral stepping stone for students who want to succeed. When those that are marginalized face financial barriers to get a degree, they often find themselves in huge debt by the time they graduate.
Calvin Tyler abandoned his college dream six decades ago because of the steep tuition and became a UPS driver. In 1998 when he retired, Tyler was the Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations and was on the UPS board of directors.
After developing the Calvin and Tina Tyler Endowed Scholarship Fund, he decided to do more in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and is pledging $20 million in scholarship endowments to those that need it.
