U.S. Veterans Will Receive Free National Park Passes For Life!

America is considered land of the free, which is why there's nothing better than free entry to see all of that land. In honor of Veterans Day, entrance fees at national parks and forests will be waived for one day only. This means you can skip that $35 fee at Yosemite and the $30 fee at Death Valley. However, U.S. military veterans and Gold Star Families will receive a lifetime America the Beautiful pass to national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, preserves and other federal lands. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs decided to do this in recognition of the sacrifices made by military members and their families. While active members of the military and their families were already qualified for free annual National Park passes that normally cost $80, veterans and others have been added because a bill was approved by Congress and signed by President Trump. If you want to receive a pass, veterans, including members of the National Guard and Reserves, must present a Veteran ID card or other form of identification that proves they have served in the armed services.
