Vons, Pavilions And Albertsons In SoCal Now Sell At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits

The next time you're in Vons, Pavillions, and Albertsons be on the look out for at-home COVID-19 test kits in the pharmacy. These local pharmacies in Southern California is making it easy for you to get tested so there's no appointments, no lines and no nasal swabs that feels like it's swabbing your brain. Customers must fill out an online questionnaire that will be reviewed by the store's pharmacist, who then contacts them to schedule a pickup at the store or home delivery. You should be able to get the test the same day you fill out the questionnaire and the saliva tests can be done at home. You'll then mail in the sample and get your results back in 48 to 72 hours. The test costs $140 and for now, the grocery stores are unable to bill insurance directly for the test. If you end up testing positive for COVID-19, CEO of Mend Urgent Care in Los Angeles, Dr. Anthony Cardillo says,

"That discussion really should be left to a physician or an ancillary provider to talk with those patients. It wouldn't be appropriate for the pharmacist to be giving positive results. We always want to make sure that we refer them back to their physicians. If they're positive, reach out to their doctors right away."
