Welcome to August …It’s a new week, and a new month. How are you feeling?
Forget asking a kid what they want to be when they grow up Seems parents already have that figured out for them. A new survey of parents revealed that 75% say they already know what their child’s career will be when he or she grows up. And just what will that career be? The Top 3, according to the parents surveyed are:
- STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) -- 35%
- health and wellness -- 32%
- food industry – 28%
So how are they ensuring their kids will end up with one of these careers? 80% of the parents surveyed said they are actively “future-proofing” their kids by making sure they have all the skills and tools for success.
What parents really don’t want is for their kids to be stuck inside an office all day. 60% of respondents said they don’t want their children to experience the typical “9-5” office job.
I do … join you in debt …A survey found that 30% of couples take on debt for their weddings, which means they’ll be paying for the big day long after it’s over. Of those who took on debt to pay for their wedding, 72% took on less than $10,000 worth of debt. Just over 1 in 10 couples took out $20,000 or more to finance their wedding costs.
And apparently it’s even worse for couples who had to change their wedding plans because of COVID-19. 35% of couples forced to change their plans took on debt, compared with 29% of couples overall. This is most likely because they may have lost deposits or had to book new, more expensive wedding dates than they had originally planned. (Media Feed)
Well, this is an interesting skin care routine …Singer Toni Braxton says she uses a vibrator on her face to “activate” the muscles under her eyes. The 52-year-old revealed this little tidbit in aVogue"Beauty Secrets" video on Friday. "I call it a 'face tingler' because it tingles the muscles in my face and gets them activated and working,” Braxton said. She was also quick to point out that she only uses the device, which apparently has three settings, as a beauty product. "I haven't used it on anything else other than my face, OK," she said.
