So “Wokefishing” is the latest bad dating trend …If you haven’t heard of it, it’s when online daters – in this case, mostly men -- pretend to be progressive in their politics and lifestyle in order to entice potential partners. The term was coined by writer Serena Smith, who says, “It’s sort of like catfishing, but specifically with political beliefs.” (NY Post)
Martha’s still got it …Remember that Martha Stewart sexy pool selfie? Well, it seems that after she posted it, the 78-year-old got more than a dozen marriage proposals … in one day. "I've had 14 proposals," Stewart told E online. "I don't know what for, but they're proposals." She says more proposals may have come in. "I haven't checked lately, that was the first day."
Dish-agreements …Do you and your significant other argue about the dishes? Apparently it’s a lot more common than you might think. A new survey has found that the average American household has 217 arguments a year – just over the dishes. That’s about 18 arguments a month about dishes and the dishwasher. And what are these arguments about?
- Who should load and unload the dishwasher.
- Pre-rinsing dishes before loading the dishwasher.
- Leaving dishes in the sink to soak.
- Leaving dirty dishes in the sink when the dishwasher is empty.
Beloved bear makes it back home …A woman in Vancouver, British Columbia, was reunited with her beloved Teddy bear after it was taken when she and her husband were moving into a new apartment. This wasn’t just any bear. Mara Soriano’s beloved bear had a recording of her late mother Marilyn’s voice. Her mother gave her the personalized bear not long before she died of cancer. "She said that she loved me and she was proud of me and that she'll always be with me," Mara said of the voice message from her mom.
Mara took to Twitter in a bid to get her bear back, and her tweet got the attention of actor Ryan Reynolds, who is originally from Vancouver. Reynolds even offered a $5,000 reward for the safe return of the bear. Less than a week later two Good Samaritans stepped forward with the stuffed animal. They told her they had seen the security video she had posted and recognized the person who was seen taking the backpack containing the bear. They got the bear back from him and returned it to a thankful Mara. (CTV News)
