• No charges will be filed against former Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson.
• Darren is the officer who fatally shot Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri August 9, 2014.
• The fatal shooting set off a week of both violent and peaceful protests in the city.
• Prosecuting attorney, Wesley Bell is the county's first Black prosecutor. He had hoped to reopen the case after taking office in January 2019.
• He said after 5 months of reviewing documents related to the case he said there was not enough evidence to prove Darren Wilson committed murder or manslaughter.
• Bell said his heart breaks for Michael's parents.
• Bell also said, our investigation does not exonerate Darren Wilson.
• Darren Wilson was never charged or tried for Michael Brown's death therefore double jeopardy does not exist in this case.
• There is no statute of limitations on filing murder charges.
