Do You Know These Coronavirus Slang Terms?

In the mist of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic around the world, we all have adapted to a new way of "normal" life.

We don't go anywhere without masks on, we communicate with friends and family mainly over video chat, and now, we're adopting a new set of slang words related to the pandemic.

These terms are known as coronavirus slang, and honestly, I didn't know many of them before finding this article that breaks them all down. BUT, they certainly all make sense once you know what they mean.

Were you using any of the terms below already??

Iso: you already know this just means "isolation" but since that word just sounds pretty sad and boring these days with how much we're using it, why not switch things up and call is "iso," right?

Flu bros: no, this isn't necessarily your housemate who you just accept that if they get sick, you'll get sick. This term actually refers to the people out there downplay the severity of coronavirus by comparing it to the common flu.

Covidivorce: we actually talked about this one earlier on the show... but this exact term is generally used in a joking manner to explain a relationship that has been strained due to being quarantined together.

Doomscrolling: this is one thing I think we all can agree we HAVE to stop doing. This is when you click on one article to get updated on the latest with coronavirus, and then end up coming up for air SEVERAL articles later, filled with dread over the news and things you read.

Coronacuts: everyone's doing it... but that doesn't mean you should, too. This refers to the at-home haircuts everyone is trying (and often failing at).

Zumping: can you imagine going through a break up right now. Specifically, a break up that occurs VIRTUALLY, because you can't really see anyone right now? Yup. Zumping is getting dumped over Zoom, or any other video chat. All I can say about this one is YIKES.

What is the latest slang you've been using to talk about COVID-19? Leave me a Yap below!
