Gritty Under Investigation For Allegedly Punching 13-Year-Old Boy

Philadelphia Flyers mascot, Gritty, is under investigation for allegedly punching a 13-year-old boy in the back at a fan event in November of last year.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the boy's father said his son "playfully patted the mascot on the head" after they got a photo together. Then, when they were walking away, Gritty got out of his chair, “took a running start, and punched my son as hard as he could."

The company that owns the Flyers did an investigation, but couldn't find any evidence to back up the claim, and now law enforcement is involved. On Tuesday, police said “the investigation is active and on-going."
