The New Look For Barbie

It’s tradition. You’re a little girl. You play with Barbie dolls. You have a daughter. She plays with Barbies. I never got into collecting them like some people but I had my fair share of diversity when it came to my Barbie dolls.

There’s a new Barbie coming to stores with a skull painted on her face and a long, black dress with colorful ruffled sleeves. It’s the Day of the Dead Barbie and it’s being released today (Thursday, September 12th), celebrating the annual Mexican festival in which departed loved ones are honored. She even has a crown with monarch butterflies and marigolds.

This particular doll "honors the traditions, symbols and rituals often seen throughout this time," said Mattel (the company that owns Barbie). It will run $75.
