Prince's memoir,The Beautiful Ones, will be published on October 29th.
The project was announced just a few weeks before his death on April 21st, 2016. Dan Piepenbring, a contributor to the New Yorker magazine who Prince hired to be his co-author, completed the work.
Random House says that the book is divided into four parts and only covers up untilPurple Rain. The first part includes Prince's recollections of his childhood, while the second focuses on his early years as a musician using his writing and photos. The third section covers his recording career up toPurple Rain, and the fourth is his original handwritten treatment for the film.
