There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Mindy Kaling is living her absolute best life right now in this moment.
Not only did she recently have a movie come out with Oprah and Reese Witherspoon, but now we are getting the Ocean's 8 movie which Mindy stars in alongside Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and more.
As the most recent cover star of Shape magazine, Mindy opened up, for one of the first times in great detail, about her experience with pregnancy and motherhood.
Mindy admits that she had no idea she would be so stuck in her home after her daughter Katherine - who she calls "Kit" - arrived:
"I didn't realize how tethered to my house I would be as a new mom... I'd thought I could bring the baby with me everywhere. I also couldn't quite believe that every three hours I needed to be home to feed her."
She also jokes on what she thinks her daughter's first words will be:
"What's great for me is that my doctor told me that incessant chatter is good for a baby, and I've lived my whole life waiting to have a captive audience... I'm constantly doing voiceover for her, as I did in The Mindy Project. Honestly, I feel like her first words are going to be, 'Just stop. Please!'"
Could you imagine, your baby finally starts talking and she just spits out "PLEASE. STOP."
My first word was "no" so I guess that's not too far off...
She also commented on the difference between her experiences of working with strong women in Hollywood:
"I feel as if I've acted only with women in the past two years, which is amazing. Between A Wrinkle in Time and Ocean's 8, I think I've worked with every famous actress in Hollywood... It's funny, because when Ocean's Eleven was filming, you'd read about how it was such a convivial atmosphere on set and that George Clooney would play pranks on everybody. It made me realize that when men go away to shoot a movie for two or three months, they leave their families at home. But women take their families with them."
As for her hopes for her daughter, she hopes that she learns exercise habits at a young age and that she is confident.
"I also want her to be confident. I was not that way as a child, and I want my daughter to be really confident all the time. I'm going to do that by always making her feel like she is good enough and not being stingy with encouraging comments. That goes against my nature a bit, because I'm a critical person—of myself, of the things I work on. But it's very important to me to make sure I instill confidence in my daughter."
I mean, I just love you Mindy. Your daughter is SO lucky to have such a successful and strong mom.
