It hasn't been a good year for retail stores competing against Amazon and other online retailers.
The Bon-Ton Stores, which operates 260 department stores, is expected to go out of business. Yonkers, Boston Store and Carson's all operate under the company. Several in Illinois and Indiana are expected to shutter, including 22 Chicago-area stores in addition to the four that were already slated for closure.
