Chills multiplied when Fox broadcasted the live production of the 1978 musical Grease Sunday evening.

Hours before taking the stage, actress-singer Vanessa Hudgens, who was cast as Rizzo, announced the death of her father Greg Hudgens. "I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer," she tweeted. "Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers."

"Tonight, I do the show in his honor," she continued.

Despite the difficult circumstances she was facing, Vanessa delivered a performance of a lifetime that received kudos from her Hollywood colleagues and critics.
