Logic took the meaning behind his powerful anthem, "1-800-273-8255," to the next level on Thursday (August 17) when he shared the accompanying video, which is aimed at raising awareness for mental health and the nationwide suicide crisis.

In the five-minute clip, the budding rapper lets the narrative of a young African American male take the spotlight. It begins with his early years as a child and proceeds onto his high school career as he struggles with acceptance over his sexuality. Whether its his own family or the loved ones of his high school love interest, he's caught in a threshold of emotion and fails to find connection from his inner circle. Don Cheadle appears in the video as his father and plays an important role in all of this, but we won't spoil the ending to the cinematic effort. Track collaborators Alessia Cara and Khalid, Luis Guzmán, Nolan Gould also make cameos in the clip with Logic, but their appearances are minor to keep the poignant concept as true to the candid song.

Earlier this week, Logic previewed the clip during iHeartRadio's Pop Summit, where he shared some insight into his distinct goal in creating his latest album, ΞVERYBODY, in a sit-down interview with Z100's Elvis Duran.

"Every single song on this album is rapped from one of the perspectives [that this character] has lived. Whether it is a young gay man coming to terms with who he is and not being accepted by his family or a single black mother of three children working three jobs and trying to get an education or a college student," the rapper explained of the songs on his LP, adding, "The only time I actually discuss myself is when I discuss my race."

"1-800-273-8255" is off Logic's third studio effort, which includes collaborations with Killer Mike, Chuck D, Juicy J, Black Thought, No I.D., Ansel Elgort and famed scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Click here to download the album on iTunes.
