Cardi B Nabs Highest-Charting Hot 100 Single By Female MC Since Nicki Minaj

From Washington Heights to the outskirts of Billboard Hot 100's Top 10 tier, Cardi B makes a huge jump on the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit, "Bodak Yellow," scoring the highest-charting single by an unaccompanied female rapper since Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda."

For the chart ending the week of August 19, 2017, "Bodak Yellow" sees a 39% increase in sales, jumping from No. 28 to the No. 14 spot and boasting 71,574 in total sales, with 21,739 of those from this week alone. Still, it's yet to surpass Minaj's Sir Mix-A-Lot sampled "Anaconda," which peaked at the No. 2 spot in 2014.

Minaj has already shared her stamp of approval for Cardi B by recently following the budding rapper on Instagram. More recently, the Young Money MC reposted one of Cardi's videos on Snapchat that had "Rake It Up" playing in the background. "#LilBadTriniBish @iamcardib 💛🎀," Nicki captioned the clip.
